Meeko, Purrsday 18 April 2013

Meeko and his siblings were found under a large deck in Garwood in 2009.  Rescue took four days. SARA was able to get 4 kittens, Mom & Dad. Thankfully all were saved and all are doing well.

Meeko was nervous about humans at first, but he's adjusted well to people, enjoys other cats and even the company of a cat-friendly dog in his foster house.  He's a sweet boy who enjoys head rubbing and playing with toys.
He has been neutered and tested FIV/FelV negative.
If interested, please call Betty B 908 464 1203

Bella, Purrsday, 28 March 2013

Bella is a beautiful torsoiseshell kitty who is about 2 to 3 years old. She was found wandering outside on a very busy street and kept trying to get into a hairdressing shop. After all, a lady has to take care of her looks.

She does tolerate other cats and dogs but would be happiest in a one pet household. She is in good health and uses the scratching post.

If you can give Bella a loving home, please call Betty B at 908 464-1203.

Socks, Meow Monday, 25 March 2013

Socks doesn't know why his brother, Benny, received the spotlight on this blog first.  He's also easy going, also mild-mannered, and also very sweet.  He would like to also point out that he is more handsome than Benny - Socks has white paws, Benny doesn't.

Socks is also just as good at hanging around the house and not causing trouble.  He is close to his brother, Benny, and would like to be adopted with him, but if you or your family only have room for one cat, Socks is sure Benny will understand why you chose him.

If you would like more information or would like to request an adoption application, please contact Mary at 732-360-9797 or mjroland@optonline.net Application is required for adoption.

Tango, FIV positive - please read, Caturday, 23 March 2013

Tango is a tuxedoed charmer who entered into the lives of SARA volunteers as an outdoor, neighborhood cat looking for food, love, and affection in 2010.  He worked his magic and was adopted quickly.

His new family fell on hard times.  Without a stable home and a possible move out of state, they surrendered Tango back to Summit Animal Rescue to give him the chance to find a new family and home.

During standard vetting, Tango is now positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).  Tango was tested again to verify the results since he had been negative in the past.  He is definitely positive.  At some point with his previous family, Tango was attacked by an FIV positive cat.

What does this mean for Tango?  FIV is not a death sentence.  Tango can live as long as a cat without this disease.  He is a portrait of health that processes qualities of strength, perseverance, and yes, peace.  He is non aggressive and ok with other cats.

Tango loves to watch the Cat sitter DVD and sitcoms Frasier, Seinfeld, and Leave it to Beaver. He also loves to have his coat brushed as he lies on your lap for his daily belly and chin rub. Don’t be surprised if he licks your hands return to demonstrate his absolute appreciation for your love. He is an exquisite cat that is more than ready to be a loyal and loving part of your family.

Besides being fully vetted, Tango is current on vaccinations and microchipped.
