Our own volunteer, Karyn Sochacki, has written a wonderful book!

What's Wrong With A Black Cat?
is a colorful and delightful children's picture book, and a wonderful adventure story that teaches young readers not only about love for animals, but also valuable truths about the importance
of internal character versus the superficiality of external beauty.

Get Involved

Volunteer Your Time:  Volunteers are always needed and are very welcome not only during our Pet Adoption Days on Saturdays, but also in the daily care of the cats and kittens being housed at Petco.  We have frequent off-site events and fundraisers throughout the year that can always benefit by an extra, animal-loving hand.

Foster Homes:  Being a foster home
is a fantastic experience. Foster homes are always needed to work with cats and kittens, for long and short-term periods, depending on the needs of the animal and the time it takes to socialize them into adoptable pets.

Be an Angel:  We desperately need people with big hearts willing to take in an FIV positive cat or kitten. Many of these cats will live long, healthy lives. Please note that FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs, and under the right circumstances, FIV positive cats can live with non-infected cats.  Our precious Wendy, in the photograph above, is the subject of just such a success story!

Make a Donation:  We must be able to pay all of our veterinary expenses for the animals we help. Checks can be made payable to S.A.R.A., Inc. and you can mail them to S.A.R.A., Inc., P.O. Box 124, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.

Leaving a Lasting Gift:
Please consider a bequest in your Will or Trust Agreement that would enable S.A.R.A., Inc. to continue their work in the rescue and rehabilitation of those who cannot fend for themselves.
