Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program
Why not improve your overall well being by adopting one of our Senior Companions?
Research shows that companion animals can improve health and happiness for all people regardless of age, health, social or economic status. Senior pets make wonderful companions for many reasons. They protect you from boredom and loneliness. They are calmer and make you feel more secure at home. Generally, pet owners get more exercise and outdoor activity. (50% off adoption fee for Seniors!)
Grover
FIV+ "Fabulous, Illuminating
& Vibrant"
He was just wandering the streets in Newark, no idea where he came from. Seems like he MIGHT be more fond of men, but does really well with ladies, too. Just happier without other cats. He is a little stressed out with too many other cats around in foster care. Quite appreciative of pets and rubs and happily bestows affection.
He LOVES to play! He doesn't get enough active play time in foster care, so he's looking forward to chasing some things! Loves catnip. Can often be found napping inside a carrier with a little beddy in it, and a dose of catnip.
He has FIV, which suppresses his immune system. So far the only issue he's had with that is that he got stomatitis—inflamed gums— which made it very painful to eat. He's now had extensive dental work to remove most of his teeth, which solves the issue quite well. Annnnnd he eats a LOT now so we know it worked.
And otherwise his blood work looks good and he's fully vaccinated and neutered.

Murray and Marshall
A Gentle Bond Seeking a Peaceful Forever Home
Age: Near 11 Years
Status: Bonded Pair BUT will consider separation for the right home situation.
Health: Excellent; Current on all senior bloodwork and vaccinations
Murray and Marshall are a devoted pair of senior companions looking for their final forever home. Originally adopted together ten years ago, they lived in a loving environment until the recent passing of their owner. Despite the heartbreak of losing their lifelong home, these resilient brothers have shown remarkable grace. While they initially required a period of adjustment, they have blossomed in their foster home, revealing themselves to be incredibly sweet, mellow, and low-maintenance companions.
Personalities & Habits
Marshall: The more muscular of the two, Marshall is a gentle soul who will politely tap your arm to request affection and pets.
Murray: Distinguished by his darker coat, Murray is equally affectionate and shares his brother’s calm demeanor.
Shared Interests: Both enjoy the quiet pleasures of life, specifically spending their afternoons bird-watching from a sunny window.
Ideal Home Environment: Because they have spent their entire lives in a tranquil setting, Murray and Marshall are seeking a quiet, low-activity household that mirrors the peaceful environment they have always known. They are well-suited for a retiree or a family looking for a pair of calm, seasoned pets who require nothing more than love, soft beds, and a view of the outdoors.
Health Status: Prospective adopters will be pleased to know that both cats are in excellent health. Recent senior bloodwork confirms they are thriving as they enter their golden years, ready to bring another decade of loyalty to a new family.
